Abstract
E-commerce can be defined as the purchasing and offering of merchandise and
benefits, or the transmitting of information, over an electronic system. The
proposed company for this project is Uncle Jack Restaurant. The company is still
using record book in the purchasing and selling process. This method troublesome
as the staff need to manually browse through the record books to find about all the
transactions, sales, and stocks. Three objectives are to identify the current business
ordering process and problem that had been faced by Uncle Jack Restaurant ,design
and develop an online food ordering system for Uncle Jack Restaurant and to
evaluate the functionality and usability of the proposed system. The Uncle Jack
Online Food Ordering System use the theory of 10 Usability Heuristics principles
and is developed based on the Adapted Waterfall Model. It has been tested and
evaluated by one expert users and ten respondents. The highest mean for every
construct are, 4.72 for ease of use, 4.63 for satisfaction, 4.6 for navigation, and 4.52
for design. This shows that the usability and design of the system is good since all
the means are above than 4.5. The limitation is the system does not detect
automatic location’s customer, the system does not provides any search engine
as promise in the Chapter 2 due to limitation of time and the system only provide
the graph and report for the monthly and daily sales and do not provide for
yearly sales. So the manager of Uncle Jack Restaurant hardly calculate the sales
by year. Some recommendations have been identified such as the locations
system must be improves by providing automatic locations detector. The
customers does not need to insert location manually anymore.
